Before and Hopefully After: Master Bedroom

As much as it embarrasses me to post a pic of our drab bedroom, I want to accurately document our progress with our humble home. We are in decorating limbo as we wait to start the renovations in the rest of the house, but as I am brought down to earth with all our upcoming reno costs, it's becoming more and more clear that new windows and floors in our bedroom will have to wait. I'm actually not that bummed though, because that means I can start decorating! Might as well, right? I desperately am missing texture, color, and art up on the walls.

I couldn't find one image that clearly captures the look I want, but I feel like this little collage sums it up! Turkish-inspired rugs, bamboo/rattan furniture, and white. I love me some white. And as you can see, I've got a good start on that!

Oh and remember our house-warming gift we picked out? Can't you just see that beautiful buffalo right at home in any of these inspiration bedrooms? Oh yeah.

Before and Hopefully After: Kitchen

Things are still slow on the remodeling front, so this girl is left to dream. This time around, it's dreaming of a white kitchen. Yes, I do realize our kitchen is already white, but in my fantasy, it's with slate counter tops and a separate woodblock topped island, open shelving on top and a stainless oven hood = perfect kitchen. Here's hoping!

Living Room

So, the place we bought in the country is a real fixer-upper. Nothing that doesn't need to be touched. Right now, we are in the stage of drawing up blue prints and figuring out the budget. A stage that I don't enjoy too much. So, in the meantime, I am constantly pinning and dreaming about what the house could look like and I thought it would be a great segment to share my "befores" (scary!) and my inspirational "hopefully afters."

Before: This is one of the views of the living space that we will be turning into a great room. The previous owners were kind enough to leave some furniture. The credenza/hutch is actually an amazing vintage piece that we will be keeping, but the lovely recliners will not be so lucky.

Hopefully After: Dreaming of crisp white walls and a nod to rustic living. The theme of the house I want to go with is white/wood/black accents. I'll keep you updated with our renovation and hopefully when we are done, we have the same feeling of this image, but with our own personal touches, of course!
